becoming the first foreigner to operate an Aikido dojo in”]
A 7th-dan black belt in Aikido, Seagal began his adult life as a martial arts instructor in Japan;] becoming the first foreigner to operate an Aikido dojo in the country. He later moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked as a martial arts instructor on Never Say Never Again; accidentally breaking actor Sean Connery’s wrist during production. In 1988, Seagal made his acting debut in Above the Law. By 1991, he had starred in four successful films. He achieved further fame in 1992, when he played Navy SEALs counter-terrorist expert Casey Ryback in Under Siege. However, On Deadly Ground (in 1994) and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (in 1995) were less successful at the box office. During the latter half of the 1990s, Seagal starred in three more theatrical films and the direct-to-video film The Patriot. Since that time, with the exception of Exit Wounds (in 2001) and Half Past Dead (in 2002), his career has shifted almost entirely to direct-to-video productions. From 1998 to 2014, Seagal appeared in a total of 27 of these. At the age of 58, he returned to prominence as Torrez in the 2010 film Machete; his first widely released film since 2002. Intermittently between 2009 and 2013, he filmed three seasons of his reality show Steven Seagal: Lawman, which depicted Seagal performing his duties as a reserve deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana (season 1–2) and Maricopa County, Arizona (season 3). He also created and starred in two seasons of the undercover police drama series True Justice between 2011 and 2012.

  1. Aikio is a great self defence tehnique. When your opponent takes time and grabs you just right, doesn’t release the grip, until you’re ready, and waits for you to stand and throw him when you’re completelly prepared. If it doesn’t work, than he grabs you exactly the same, and waits for you to do it again, untill it works. Then it’s really usefull.
(just kidding, I actually like aikido, I’m just being sarcastic to these “how aikido is better than anything, and you’re harmless if you know it” videos, which only get people injured when attacked)

  2. aikido is a load of bollocks. never proven and only used by fat fucks like baldy fat man seagal . who has had his ass hair transplanted onto his head. nice ! he is however highly skilled in the art of shitting himself lol

  3. In aikido, I like to pay big bucks to people who take a dive from me. Great acting Seagal, bravo! Your still a fat douchebag who would have your clock cleaned by anyone in any martial art including mma.

  4. aikido is good, if you are fast and skilled enough..but then again if you are so fast and skilled, why bother using aikido techs when you can simply go to karate and use that speed to your lighting fist puches and kicks…just a thought

  5. Everybody in the world of martial arts and everybody in the world of show business knows Segal is a clown

  6. Funny that phonies want to say Karate does not do this or that. Everything he said is false. We slip punches in Karate, we also have evolved with many different arts like anyone should that is in Martial arts. Yet again in ignorance and thinking you are some God in Martial arts, YOU are a fool in thinking like this god does, LMAO at god to so many fools.

  7. Seagal got skills. I have been punched sadly for real more than once in my life and it happens just as fast as it does here 0:47. Really hard to defend against because the attack is just so fast and it comes in straight at you.

  8. aikido bullshido!! in real fight opponents dont throw themself on the floors ike here and this fat pigg pay to anderson silva to be his advisor on TV for making Seagal more important

  9. I thought aikido master would be close to asuka kazama in tekken game.(im not being delusional cause its just a game, but at least the movement would be similar)

  10. Aikido is based on fighting an idiot that is drunk..because a skilled muay thai fighter does not swing like that.

  11. Having boxed as well as trained in the martial arts I understand the value of being able to slip a punch. But good strikers don’t hit like the fellow in this video. The punch of an effective striker snaps back with the same speed with which it was delivered.
And another punch from a different angle is already on the way. And none of it is telegraphed. You can’t block what you can’t
see coming. Against that kind of speed blocking is the last thing you want to do. Bob, weave, slip and don’t present a stationary target….

  12. Here’s the problem in a nutshell. Most of the negative comments on this video are because these guys are weak mentally and like a bunch of obedient pups themselves, they have a gripe with Steven Seagal and when one starts mouthing off the other pups play follow the leader. YouTube is rife with derogatory videos of Steven Segal by these millennium cream puffs who have Nothing better to do than to man up behind the safety of a keyboard and play tough guy know it all. I’m not an avid supporter of Segal but I DO RESPECT the man and his ability as an martial artist. Martial arts and combat proficiency require an open mind, discipline, humility and dedication. Traits I doubt just by reading most of the comments posted here, these keyboard tough guys possess.

  13. His decoy sure fucked that fall up. You think Mr segall even watches his crap later? I would be embarrassed and shut my mouth forever after seeing these videos of myself.
